One night a week, Atit Amin feels like the male lead in a Bollywood movie. He’s often the only man dancing to
“Cutiepie,”“Chogada” and other popular Indian movie songs that make up the BollyX fitness class playlist.
Mr. Amin’s passion for dance started with salsa. “It seemed like a skill a man should have in his tool kit,” the 32-year-old says. In 2011, he signed up for lessons at a studio in Boston and quickly became a regular. At the end of class, he’d often hear music from the Bollywood movies that his parents, immigrants from India, played constantly in his childhood home in New Jersey.
